ES9038PRO DAC
Both the left and right channels contain 1 ES9038PRO DAC chip which is typically used in desktop setups. This means that each audio channel has 8 parallel outputs summed together for superior resolution and minimal distortion - simply an extremely clean sound production.
THX 788 headphone amplifier
When it comes to amplification, there are 2x THX 788 chips in the M17, also usually used in stationary setups. FiiO and THX collaborated to create this exclusive device, an upgrade of the original design. Compared to the original, the output power has increased by 225% with up to 3000mW per channel with a lower output impedance - this allows effortless power for all kinds of headphones.
Outstanding gain opportunities
With battery operation, you have access to 4 gain levels: low, medium high and headphone mode. With DC mode (i.e. with connected power supply) "Enhanced over-ear headphone" mode becomes available. With this mode, you get access to powers usually found in high-end stationary amplifiers. With balanced output you get +16 dB gain which allows the M17 to drive all headphones on the market.

"Desktop-quality" Power supply
Behind the panel of the M17 you will find two power supplies - one for battery operation and one that is powered by external DC power. The battery allows you to use the M17 portable. With DC current, the voltage in the analog circuit is increased by 35%.
"Desktop-quality" heat dissipation
With exceptional sound quality you need high power consumption, with this you need good heat dissipation to prevent the components from getting too hot. Not only has "H" type heat dissipation and VC liquid cooling been used, the M17 also has an aluminum alloy frame that effectively transfers heat out of the unit. A stand with a fan is also included, which can be used in case of high consumption.
High-End op-amp
With voltage noise as low as 1.1nV@1Khz and THD+N of -136 results in an extremely clean amplification.

Physical digital and analogue separation for reduced noise
Inside the M17 you have 17 different PCB boards with a gold finish. The analogue and digital circuit boards are separated to reduce the noise it would otherwise have created. 7 copper alloy shields provide additional shielding to reduce internal and external electromagnetic interference on the audio signals inside the device.
Highly optimized modular internal structure
The design of the M17 took 1.5 years to complete. With 6 major design revisions which contained 12 rounds of optimization of the internal structure. The result is that the unit makes excellent use of space.
7th generation "Mech design"
The futuristic and seamless CNC milled design evokes a feeling of a technological marvel. The "mech-inspired" sharp lines of the body, buttons and atmospheric lights give the M17 a brave and charismatic aura.
