Adaptive modes for flexibility
The Q15 has two modes that make it flexible in different listening scenarios:
1. "Desktop Mode": Q15 has a new desktop mode with a separate Type-C power connector. When the Q15 is connected to the PD power adapter it will be powered externally and thus omit the battery completely.
2. "Phone mode": The Q15 also has a "phone mode" switch that makes the Q15 better suited for use with phones. If you turn on Phone Mode, the Q15 will be powered by the built-in battery, without using the phone's battery.
In this way, you have a headphone amplifier that works optimally for both portable and stationary use.
Global parametric EQ
The Q15 comes with 7 EQ presets and 3 customizable "PEQ" settings. PEQ can be used in both bluetooth mode and USB DAC mode. Through FiiO's self-developed PEQ algorithm and user interface, you can select the exact frequencies to adjust, along with their gain levels and bandwidth - allowing you to fine-tune the sound just the way you want it. It is all controlled from the FiiO Control app.
XMOS technology
With digital components at the same level as FiiO Q7, Q15 relies on the ARM processor to realize USB/Coax/bluetooth decoding in one and is able to process digital audio signals with low delay and high efficiency.
XMOS 16-Core XU316: Supports 768 kHz/32-bit PCM, DSD 512 and full decoding of MQA.
TI Cortex M4 processor: Ensures stable and efficient operation of various systems.
With this in mind, the device is perfect for use that requires fast response time, such as gaming or watching movies.
World class DAC
The Q15 features AKM's latest DAC combination: AK4191EQ+AK4499EX. When working in concert with the newly developed "DWA Routing Technology", audio performance is significantly improved. The result is a more detailed, yet natural and realistic sound that also retains the warmth associated with AKM's sound signature.
