After an earthquake in the city of Angel Grove, a group of five young friends found a robot called Alpha 5, who led them to meet the galactic wizard Zordon. Zordon selected them to face evil in the form of the sorceress Rita Repulsa, and they each received a Power Morpher, an artifact that contains a Power Coin with an image of a prehistoric animal that allows them to transform into a Power Ranger.
Trini Kwan, the Yellow Ranger, is an Asian-American teenager with both Chinese and Japanese traditions. She is an expert in martial arts and one of the other female representatives in the group. With a saber-toothed tiger as her symbol depicted on her yellow and white costume, our heroine swings her daggers.
